ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, In. –– Normally, universities like Notre Dame go all out when it comes to recruiting high school athletes. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced most colleges to do their recruiting virtually.
With that said, Notre Dame Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick said it might be beneficial to use a virtual model of recruiting more often.
"Especially for a national school like [Notre Dame], the travel demands can be daunting, so I think the more this experiment causes us to say you know what, we can still communicate our message, we can still connect with families and interact between those families, and all of the resources on campus, then maybe it's a good model we ought to use a little bit more," Swarbrick said.
