COLOMA, Mich. -- CSX confirmed to ABC57 that a track inspector found a washout in progress in Coloma at milepost CG 75.71 around 5 p.m. on April 4.
CSX said as a result, the Grand Rapids Subdivision single main track was out of service between Riverside and the WE Kirk for a time.
Officials say CSX crews quickly worked to repair the damage.
The line was restored Monday at around 1 p.m., allowing freight traffic to resume.
