Cultivate Food Rescue prepares meals for TSA officers in South Bend
Cultivate Food Rescue SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Cultivate Food Rescue delivered prepared meals Tuesday to Transportation Security Administration officers serving at South Bend International Airport after airport leaders shared that officers are continuing to serve the community while awaiting the return of regular federal funding and welcomed community support.
Cultivate Food Rescue provided as many meals as possible that could be stored on site and is working to explore additional storage options so additional support can continue in the days ahead.
In the last week alone, Cultivate Food Rescue prepared more than 24,000 meals, a record amount and roughly double its typical weekly production as the organization responds to growing need across the region.
Cultivate Food Rescue works across northern Indiana to rescue excess food and redistribute it to neighbors in need through partnerships with schools, pantries, shelters, and community organizations.
