SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Cultivating Life Ministries held an event Saturday morning on South Bend’s West Side hoping to connect the community to resources needed.
The tent event focused on safe schools, families and communities.
Speakers addressed bullying, violence and crime prevention to give life tools to community members and attendees could sign up for Medicaid and food stamps.
“We all have an obligation to give back, especially in a time like this. I think with the collective efforts of the city right now, and if we can get other pastors and people to invest in our communities then we’ll have an area like downtown South Bend; areas with flowers and trees that have transitions over the last five or six years,” David Rial Buggs, Pastor for Cultivating Life Ministries, said.
Investing into the west side of town will help solve issues South Bend faces in the community, according to organizers.
