'Dark Knight Rises' grosses high box office numbers

Major movie studios have been tallying up weekend box office numbers.

They've waited until Monday to report out of respect for the victims of Friday’s movie theater massacre.

The New York Times is already reporting the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises “made about $162 million over the weekend.

Movie studios had expected the film would bring in at least $190 million.

According to the Times, there is speculation that movie goers did not feel safe at the movies.
