Day two of the Four Winds Invitational capturing fans to see their favorites
SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Fans taking in day two of the Four Winds Invitational at the South Bend Country Club
"Really great golf. We've seen a lot. We've walked nine holes today and I walked nine holes yesterday with one of our friends and we're having a grand old time. Part of today is seeing really good golf and so we get to actually watch girls that I expect to be her size and how they swing and how they play and the follow through and we watch, what did we watch on those girls?" Duane Ungethum asked his daughter Lucy.
"We watch the hips," Lucy responded.
While most fans are taking round two, others are playing catchup.
"Today is my first day. Unfortunately, I had to work yesterday like everybody else. The girls are a treat to watch just how pure they hit the ball and how well their short game is its pleasure. The tournament is a great outing. As you know we really want to thank for wins for sponsoring this. It's great for the community and most of all, it's great for the charity gift to memorials, children," Jim Champer said.
Helping to support that cause are the 144 golfers. Sitting at number on the leader board is Gabriela Ruffels.
Ruffels is 9 under par (-9) after 36 holes and hopes to keep the momentum going on the final day.
"Definitely just made more putts today I felt like I you know hit it solid yesterday just the putts weren't going in and then you know it's golf though so I'm not super happy with today. I definitely feel like the experience, you know, just drawing from even last year where to hit it, where to where not to hit it. And just kind of even how putts are breaking and got just that knowledge is super helpful," Ruffels said.
Round three of the Four Winds Invitational begins Friday with a tee time of 7:30 a.m.
