Death toll at 21 in fungal meningitis outbreak

Another person has died from fungal meningitis linked to tainted steroid injections.

That raises the death toll to 21.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and prevention has increased the tally of cases to 271.

The growing outbreak now spans across 16 states.

As many as 14,000 patients are thought to have received injections of the steroid from New England.

The steroid has since been recalled.
