SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Democratic candidate for Governor Jennifer McCormick was in South Bend today over at Unity Gardens.
During McCormick's time there, she and other Democratic political candidates learned about how the west side of South Bend is a food desert and met a few child volunteers that helped around the garden, learning their stories in the process.
"We had a fabulous opportunity to learn more about the Unity Garden, which is a wonderful solution, about looking at what are the issues locally, and finding solutions for that, but it's also about partnerships and education, and it's such a great example of what happens when the community can come together with great leadership," stated McCormick.
After her stop at the Garden, McCormick went down to Brain Lair Books to speak with their owner.
