Demolition starts at Family Dollar site

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Friday, demolition started on the old Family Dollar building in South Bend.
The property is being cleared for the new St. Joseph's High School.
The city bought the land back in June and planned to sell it to the Fort Wayne- South Bend Diocese for a dollar.
A judge ruled that the city couldn't sell the land because it violated the separation of church and state.
The Diocese bought the land at auction instead.
The new school is set to open in August.
