Deputies identify driver killed in crash on CR 3

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver was killed in a crash on CR 3 Friday morning when his vehicle struck a tree, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say 44-year-old Jonathan Towne was traveling north on CR 3 at approximately 6:45 a.m. when his SUV crossed the center lane, left the roadway and struck a tree.
Towne was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
