Deputies shut down alleged marijuana grow house

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A search warrant for a home in Buchanan resulted in the seizure of marijuana plants, marijuana and crack cocaine, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

While executing a search warrant at 806 Victory Street in Buchanan, deputies and Buchanan Police discovered 16 live marijuana plants, over a pound of processed marijuana and 7 grams of crack cocaine.

Officers also seized a 2001 Lincoln Navigator and a video surveillance camera system under the State of Michigan’s civil forfeiture law.

Deputies arrested Jamal Aleem Cashier on multiple charges. Cashier was charged with manufacturing marijuana 2nd offense, possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver 2nd offense, maintaining a drug house 2nd offense, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine 2nd offense.
