DETROIT, Mich. -- This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and that means the beginning of Lent.
Some Detroit churches are offering a unique way to get people in and out of church quickly by using a drive through system.
"Many of the people that I talk to don't have the opportunity to worship on Ash Wednesday. And so it was really important to me to offer ashes to people, so that they can go to work and have that with them all day long," said Pastor June Marchal-Smith, United Methodist.
Novi United Methodist Church offered the drive through service for a couple hours in the church's parking lot.
Some were upset though saying the act was disprespectful.
