Dino Days and Summer Reading kicking off at Goshen Public Library
Goshen Public Library GOSHEN, Ind. -- Summer Reading kicks off officially on June 1, with pre-registration beginning on May 15. Participants can sign up for the Kids Program, Teen Program, or Adult Program to log reading, unlock badges, and win prizes
Special programs throughout the summer offer unique learning and play opportunities for each age group. Funday Mondays for 2026 feature Mark’s Ark, a special fossil dig, bubble play, Professor Steve’s ‘Digging into Science’ Show, and Dinosaur Dimensions—featuring animatronic dinosaur puppets. Funday Mondays are for kids and families, and take place at Pringle Park each Monday in June at 2:30 p.m.
At the Summer Book Giveaways, any child or teen who attends can select a free book to take home and build their home library. Over the last five years, Goshen Public Library has given over 7,500 free books during these summer events. Teens can join a variety of special events over the summer, including glow painting, a trivia tournament, an escape room, and even Pickle Forensics. Adults can tune in for one of the library’s Virtual Author Talks, sign up to compete in a jigsaw puzzle race, learn watercolor basics, or even give blood with the American Red Cross
The Book Giveaways are primarily funded through community donations and organization sponsorships. This year, Everence is sponsoring one of the giveaway events, generously donating $500 to purchase books for the program. Prizes for Summer Reading have been generously donated by the Friends of the Library and many local businesses, including Catitude Cafe, Goshen Farmer’s Market, Hacienda, Maple City Market, and many more.
"At Everence, we believe that investing in our community means investing in its people—no matter their age,” said Allison Schrock Pletcher, Vice President of Marketing at Everence. “We're honored to partner with the Goshen Public Library on the Summer Book Giveaways. Reading opens doors, sparks curiosity, and builds a foundation for lifelong learning. We're proud to play a small part in making sure every child in our community has a book in their hands.”
