Dowagiac Do-Gooder

DOWAGIAC, Mich. – A man in Dowagiac is on a mission to deliver 1,000 pies to the elderly as a way to bring in 2015 on a cheerful note.

His name is Brian Antisdel and he says he tries to give back to the community as much as he can because he knows what it's like to struggle.

He was homeless at the age of 14 but he overcame that obstacle and came back to his hometown to open up his own business.

He says, he donates scrap metal to the local college robotics team and gives to the homeless, often.

On Tuesday, he decided to deliver 1,000 pies as a way to show the elders in his community he appreciates them.

“There's a lot of people in Dowagiac that need to the help,” says Susan Larsen who was one of the many people surprised by a delivery from Brian.

Larsen says, this sweet gesture brought a much-needed smile to her face.
