Driver accused of intentionally ramming another vehicle
A driver was arrested and faces multiple charges for allegedly ramming another vehicle multiple times Thursday evening, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.
The victim called 9-1-1 around 8:15 p.m. to report his vehicle had been rammed several times by another vehicle while traveling at speeds of up to 55 mph while on CR384. The caller said he believed the suspect's vehicle had just crashed into a ditch.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the 54-year-old driver, but said he was uncooperative. They noted he seemed intoxicated, according to reports.
Deputies located pieces of the suspect's vehicle embedded in the victim's vehicle.
The victim did not know why the other driver rammed his vehicle and did not know the driver, reports said.
The suspect was arrested on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated, second or subsequent offense, and felonious assault non-family member with a motor vehicle.
The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
