Driver and passenger rescued from vehicle in millrace canal

Emergency responders rescued a driver and his passenger from a vehicle that ended up in the millrace canal near the Goshen Pond and dam, according to Goshen Police.

Police were called at 10:18 a.m. about a vehicle in the water.

When officers arrived they found a Chevy Trailblazer in the water north of the dam.

The driver told police his foot slipped as he was backing up, causing the vehicle to drive into the water, according to police.

The driver and passenger were not injured but were taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

The vehicle was removed from the water.
