Driver dies in a single-vehicle crash

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police officials confirmed that they received a call around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday about a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Twyckenham Drive and Longfellow Avenue that killed the driver.

Officials say the vehicle crashed into the center pillar of an overpass.

Bystanders pulled the driver out of the vehicle and to perform CPR, officials say.

Officials say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were not other passengers in the vehicle and no pedestrians were injured in this crash, officials say

The cause of this crash is currently under investigation.
