Drought could affect popcorn prices

The drought affected corn crops are affecting a favorite movie time snack: popcorn.

Many business owners are paying double what they used for popcorn kernels.

And now that cost will like be passed onto customers.

"Because of the drought, we are not allowed to have any type of unusual ordering. Meaning we cannot order more popcorn than we typically would," Carly Swift of Just Pop In said.

Retail prices have jumped from about $20 for a 50 pound pack to at least $30, if not $40 dollars.

Popcorn lovers can expect to see that increase to be passed on to you at the grocery store.
