SOUTH BEND, Ind.- South Bend Common Council 6th District Candidate, Bruce Mitchell, has been approved to run in the May primary.
Indiana law requires candidates to vote in two consecutive democratic primaries before placing a bid to run on the ticket.
Some leaders asked to remove Mitchell from the ballot, citing he did not meet the voting requirement, having voted in only one democratic primary.
The election board voted and approved Mitchell's bid for candidacy, and he may now move forward with his campaign.
