City of Elkhart plans to perform repairs to Nappanee Street Pedestrian Bridge, future replacement underway

ABC 57 ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart officials announced Thursday morning that this summer, crews will perform minor repairs to the Nappanee Street Pedestrian Bridge. Crews will also perform repairs to the entry and exit paths leading up to it.
The design and planning process for the replacement bridge, which officials say will take eight months, is underway and is expected to be completed by early 2027.
Officials say, once renderings and a construction schedule are finalized, there will be an additional update.
