Elkhart County 4-H Fair steps up this year’s concert series

GOSHEN, Indiana -- “Yes, we’re a county fair but we’re not just a county fair. Elkhart County is truly special,” says Mark Kritzman.

As president elect of the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, Kritzman was in charge of booking musicians for this year’s concert series.

Already known for being one of the largest 4-H fairs in the nation, Kritzman says the fair’s good reputation continues to grow each year.

“The entertainers talk and when they get the chance to come to Elkhart County it’s not hard to get them booked,” says Kritzman.

This year’s top talent includes American Idol season 8 contestant Danny Gokey.

“We love doing fairs, we love doing festivals. Not just because the crowds are great but because there’s a lot to do on site. We’re just excited, you know, getting to see middle America, the Midwest,” says Gokey.

Gokey performed Sunday night to a full crowd.

Grandstand seating is included in the admission fee. Because Sunday was free admission day, many got to see his performance at no cost.

“We brought something for everybody this year. Our lineup is more diverse than it has ever been. Elkhart has a tradition for putting great entertainment on the stage and in my year as president I just wanted to make sure we maintain the tradition,” says Kritzman.

The concert series continues throughout the week. Grandstand seating is first come, first serve, and included in the $8 fee to get into the fair. Reserved track seats are $35 and can be purchased by clicking here.
