Elkhart County Humane Society hosts fundraisers for new building

The Elkhart County Humane Society will host fundraisers during September as the nonprofit organization is seeking financial support to construct a new building in Bristol.

According to the organization, a formal ground breaking ceremony will happen on County Road 19 on September 15th with the first fundraiser to follow.

“Yes. We still need financial support to bring it all to completion. Yet, knowing that construction costs will continue to rise, we wanted to get started now and push forward. The impact for our county will be incredible!” said Kim Welch, Campaign Co-chair.

The first event is a dinner dance held at the Moose Lodge in Elkhart at 5:00 p.m. on September 17th.

The organization says Jeff Hunt, a member of The Source Band, is coordinating the event with other musicians and tickets will be required to attend.

The other event is a 5K run and a one mile ‘mutt strut’ benefiting Paws for a Cause on September 24th at Ox Bow Park starting at 9:00 a.m.
