Elkhart County Sheriffs work to curb drunk driving

Wakarusa, IN - The Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership will run a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in Wakarusa.  The event will begin around 11 p.m.

Police say that drivers should be able to progress through the line and return to the road within two minutes if no issues exist.

Police also say that these types of enforcement events help to stop drunk driving and lead to more arrests of drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

If you intend to be out on the roads after drinking, make sure to have a designated driver or call a cab.
