Elkhart police investigating third shooting at apartment complex in three days

ELKHART, Ind. - The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a shooting at the River Run Apartment Complex Saturday evening. This is the third shooting reported at the complex in three days, according to officers.

Police were called to the 700 block of Monroe St. just after 7 p.m. on Saturday for the incident.

A 19-year-old was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.

Officers also discovered two vehicles with gunshot damage in the area, as well as gunshot damage to an apartment building.

On August 9, police responded to two shootings at the complex, the first in the 700 block of Monroe St. and the second in the 300 block of Middlebury St.

All three shootings are currently under investigation.
