ELKHART, Ind.—The Elkhart Police Department is using billboards to educate about and enforce a noise ordinance that was established in 1994.
Seven billboards will soon be up around town with the noise awareness message, which includes the line “fines up to $2,500.”
The first billboard went up on September 4.
The noise ordinance is available in its entirety on the city’s website.
