Fall DEA Drug Take Back Day set for October 29 in Michiana

The next DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 29 at a number of locations across Michiana.

The biannual event is organized through a partnership with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, the 525 Foundation, and local law enforcement agencies.

On this day, residents can bring their unused and unneeded prescription drugs to a designated collection site to properly dispose of the medication.

The service is free and anonymous.

Residents can drop off their medication at one of the following locations:

  • St. Joseph County Jail - 401 W. Sample St., South Bend
  • South Bend Fire #1 - 1222 S. Michigan St., South Bend
  • South Bend Fire #6 - 4302 W. Western Ave., South Bend
  • South Bend Fire #9 - 2105 E. Mishawaka Ave., South Bend
  • Clay Fire #21 - 18776 Cleveland Road, South Bend
  • Clay Fire #25 - 12481 Anderson Road, Granger
  • Beacon Community Hospital Bremen - 1020 High Road, Bremen
  • Beacon Granger Hospital - 3220 Beacon Parkway, Granger
  • Beacon Elkhart Aquatic Center - 200 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart
  • Mishawaka Fire Department - 3000 Harrison Road, Mishawaka
