'Fall' in Love with Downtown South Bend Oct. 4

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Kick off the Halloween season with Downtown South Bend to celebrate fall and the downtown area with "'Fall' in Love with Downtown," October's First Fridays' theme, on Oct. 4 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The event will feature a variety of events including an Oktoberfest Celebration in Studebaker Plaza, a fall photo op, fall craft activities, and the last architectural walking tour of the year.

Local experimental rock group, Also on Sundays, will take the stage at Leighton Auditorium in the St. Joe County Library Main Branch to perform a live original score to the 1922 silent horror film classic, "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror."

Attendees are encouraged to dress up in vampire-themed costumes, whether that be a vampire, victim, hunter, or familiar, for a chance to win movie tickets and other prizes.

You can also enter the raffle for original horror art by illustrator Alan Hughes.

The free, annual, family-friendly event is presented by The Music Village, in partnership with the St. Joe County Public Library and DTSB, Inc.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start time.

Parental guidance is suggested.

The Be Kind Campaign Launch Party will take place on the Gridiron with vendors, and more.

Parking on-street and in city-managed garages is always free in downtown South Bend nights and weekends.
