ST.JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A family is thankful to have their pets back after a devastating fire tore through their home.

On Feb. 4, fire crews responded to a residential fire in German Township where three cats were rescued from the residence. Clay firefighters provided Moondog. Michelle, and Richard  with medical care at the scene.

The cats were then transported to South Bend Animal Clinic to undergo medical evaluation.

The homeowner provided an update to ABC 57 saying, “It’s been a pretty devastating experience for our family, but thanks to our wonderful neighbor spotting the fire and the awesome Clay Fire firefighters plus the great folks at South Bend Animal Clinic, our cats are doing well and are back with us!”

In a tweet, Clay firefighters were happy to share the news.
