Farm animals slaughtered overnight in Detroit

DETROIT — Five goats, at least eight chickens and a barn cat are all dead after an overnight animal slaughter near Detroit.

"There were a couple bludgeoned," said Mark Ramos of the Michigan Humane Society. "The others seem to have had their heads hacked and some had puncture wounds in their heads."

Police have just begun to investigate who was behind the crime.

Investigators say the killing could have possibly been a group effort.
