Farmers forced to give up their pet bears

OHIO -- A group of Ohio farmers were forced to give up their pet bears because of a new law.

The new law going into effect January 1st bans dangerous and exotic animals from the state.

The farmers have kept the bears for six-years in a small 20 ft by 20ft cage but law officials say that is not good.

They want to tell people that though they think in their heart they are really caring for the animals, it is abuse.

With the new law, any Ohio resident keeping an exotic animal without a permit will need to pay a large fee.
