Farmers market coming to the city of Mishawaka
MISHAWAKA, Ind. –A new farmers market will be coming to the city of Mishawaka this summer.
Mishawaka Parks and Recreation will be hosting the farmers market at Central Park beginning in May of 2019.
The farmers market will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
A spokesperson for Mishawaka Parks and Recreation says that Central Park was chosen for its centralized location next to Riverwalk.
As thousands of visitors come to Central Park, its believed the farmers market will attract even more visitors to the area.
The season will tentatively begin on May 12 and run until Sept. 8.
According to Special Events and Activities Director Brittni Gendron, Mishawaka Parks and Recreation is hoping to increase health–centered opportunities for the community with the Farmer’s Market being a large focus.
The department is hoping to create a strong vendor base and community interest before the market is eventually moved from Central Park to Iron Works Plaza in downtown Mishawaka which is currently under construction.
