Few snow showers Thursday morning; more impactful snow Friday and Saturday
Early Thursday morning some snow showers are falling. Some areas could accumulate around 1" of snow, so roads could be slow going.
Most snow showers end before lunchtime, however, just a few lake effect flurries are possible this afternoon. Most of the day is dry but cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 30s. This evening would be a good time to run errands ahead of more impactful weather Friday and Saturday.
While a few snow showers are possible late overnight, the bigger impact is a winter storm developing for Friday into Saturday. Friday morning could start with wet snow. By afternoon, precipitation is either a rain/snow mix or a wet snow.
It is windy, with gusts up to 35 mph possible by Friday evening.
Temperatures begin to cool Friday night, changing precipitation to all snow. Snow continues into Saturday. Travel will be difficult Friday night into Saturday because of accumulating snow. Temperatures continue to plummet through the weekend, falling into the single digits Saturday night.
Sunday there could be a few more snow showers with highs in the lower teens.
The coldest day is MLK Day Monday with highs in the single digits. Temperatures remain below normal through next week.
