Fight at local middle school causes call to cops for assistance
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend police have confirmed that they were called to Jefferson Middle School on Tuesday morning to break up a fight between students.
The call came in a little after 9:30 a.m. and the fight was reportedly over before officers arrived. There were no injuries.
During the altercation the school was put on a "hold."

I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred at Jefferson Traditional Middle School on Tuesday morning. Due to a physical altercation between students, the school was placed on hold as a precautionary measure.
I am pleased to report that law enforcement intervened promptly to de-escalate the situation, and the hold has now been lifted. Our school staff responded swiftly to ensure the safety of all students and staff members during this time.
