Fighting Irish prep for Champs Sports Bowl

NOTRE DAME, Ind. –Notre Dame students may be on Christmas break, but the football team is busy studying for the Champs Sports Bowl.

The Fighting Irish will face off against the Seminoles of Florida State. Coach Brian Kelly told ABC 57 that practice has been productive.

Kelly says the team is scrimmaging a lot to keep up the game day intensity. Irish players say it’s important to stay motivated.

"It’s tough to sit around for a month and not have a game,” said Irish offensive tackle Zach Martin.“ At the same time you know you're going to face a great opponent and they're working hard the entire month too, and we just got to stay focus on the task at hand."

The Champs Sports Bowl is on December 29th in Orlando.
