Firefighters locate body in burning home, homicide unit investigating

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen firefighters found a man deceased inside a burning home Thursday afternoon.
Goshen firefighters responded to a house fire at 425 North First Street just before 1 p.m. Thursday.
When firefighters arrived, they made entry to the home and found a man's body.
The man was identified as 68-year-old Charles Grise.
Goshen Police said the resident was unable to escape the home and it appeared he succumbed to the smoke and fire.
The source of the fire appears to be accidental, police said.
Because of the man's death, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit was called in to oversee the investigation.
