Flooding cleanup in Illinois is underway

LONDON MILLS, Ill. -- Cleanup was underway Monday after heavy flooding swept through the Midwest.

In London Mills, Illinois nearly 400 people were forced from their homes earlier this month.

Monday, they finally got a chance to go back and see what was left.

"Nobody expected it to be this bad and I think it took a lot of us by surprise," said Rebecca Davis, flooding victim. "Coming back into town on Sunday and seeing it after it had already gone down was very, very difficult."

At least 40 homes suffered severe damage.

Volunteers have come from all over to help those living there bounce back.
