KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office announced the passing of former Kosciusko County Sheriff Ron Robinson.

Robinson served as the county sheriff from 1987 to 1990 and passed away Monday at the age of 78.

The sheriff's office released a statement which states in part:

"Sheriff Robinson dedicated his career to public service and the safety of others. During his tenure, he led with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to strengthening law enforcement and community trust. His leadership left a lasting impact on the Sheriff's Office and the community he served."

Per Robinson's obituary, he began his law enforcement serving with KCSO in 1969 as a deputy.
