Founder of Hoosier Racing dies

LAKEVILLE, Ind. -- A local business owner who gave back to the community has died.

Bob Newton, the founder of Hoosier Racing, died Wednesday night. He was 86 years old.

Newton started the tire company back in 1957. Since then, he helped build Newton Park and the Newton Center in Lakeville.

Many in town have known Bob since they grew up.

"But he just did so much for the community," Irish Sanders said. "He was so well liked. he was always pleasant. Always there to go down to the local restaurant and talk to the guys at lunch time. He was just a wonderful, wonderful,man."
