Free archery lessons in South Bend

SAINT JOSEPH, Ind. -- A Learn to Shoot program involving archery will be offered free to the public on Aug. 28 at the century-old Izaak Walton League of America lodge in South Bend.

This beginner-level class will provide archery equipment and have plenty of instructors available to teach participants how to shoot at a close-range target.

Participants are recommended to secure long hair, wear closed toe footwear, close fitting shirts, and short sleeves.

Under 18-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult, otherwise all ages are welcomed.

Signups are not mandatory; however, they are suggested on their website to reserve a spot among the limited 50 slots available.
