Cool today, frigid on the way
NAPPANEE, Ind -- After new guidance from the Elkhart County Health Department, there is no longer a mask mandate for those who are fully vaccinated.
The no mask mandate released Friday for county residents to no longer worry about being masked up regardless of your vaccine status. Meaning if you have not been vaccinated, it is recommended but not required.
Local residents are ecstatic about the news and could not wait to walk the streets without their masks.
"I think it’s wonderful it’s been lifted. I believe in individual choice. I believe in our freedom." said local resident Janie Bontrager.
Business owners are also in agreeance with no mask mandate as they have already left the decision up to their customers on if they want to wear a mask or not.
"I do not require a mask. If they want to wear a mask they may but I find that most customers are not wearing a mask these days." said Amishland Antique owner Steve Whittenberger.
