Gearing up for Arbor Day 2021

All week long we have been celebrating Earth Week here at ABC 57 with stories showing ways we can help better or planet. We covered stories talking about recycling, solar panels, wetlands, planting trees, and climate policy. We have all of these stories on our website, just in case you want to take a look back and find out ways you can help our planet to a greener tomorrow. As we wrap up earth week, we now set focus on April 30th, which is Arbor Day.

Arbor day is focused on encouraging people and groups to plant trees. Trees play a very important part in keeping ecosystems, and even our planet cleaner. So for this Arbor day, if you are looking to plant a tree you can visit a few local places to get yours for free. 

A few places throughout Michiana that are giving away free trees include:

South Bend: Pinhook Park on Saturday April 24th from 9am-Noon

Goshen: Reith Interpretive Center on Saturday April 24th from 9am-Noon, April 26-30th from 9am-Noon, and Saturday May 1st from 9am-3pm.

Elkhart: Elkhart Environmental Center on Saturday April 24th beginning at 10am.
