Golf car driver injured in crash with vehicle

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- The driver of a golf car was injured when a vehicle struck it Monday morning near the intersection of Grange Street and Five Points Road in Mason Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Deputies said 69-year-old James Becraft of Cassopolis was driving his golf cart on Five Points Road when a driver who was turning onto Five Points Road from Grange Street struck the golf cart.

Deputies say the driver crossed into the northbound lane while making the turn.

Becroft was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
