South Bend man charged after allegedly threatening to kill family members with knife
St. Joseph County Jail SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening to kill family members with a knife.
36-year-old Donald Brown is charged with three felony counts of Intimidation with a deadly weapon, as well as a misdemeanor Battery charge.
Records show officers were dispatched to the 52000 block of Donald Street in South Bend on July 10. When officers arrived, they allegedly saw Brown chasing his father around with a knife.
His mother reportedly told police that Brown had earlier exited his bedroom and asked who stole his things. She said that, when no one answered, Brown got behind her, held the blade of a boxcutter to her head, and talked about killing everyone in the house. Documents say she was eventually able to convince Brown to go outside and take a car ride.
As they approached the door, Brown allegedly pushed a juvenile family member against the wall and once again talked about killing everyone in the house. Court documents say his mother entered a vehicle as Brown allegedly chased around the other two family members around the yard.
One witness told officers he saw Brown fighting with the alleged juvenile victim but did not see anything in Brown's hands.
