SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Local families are invited to participate in a free Summer Safety event at the St. Joe County Library on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event, hosted by St. Joseph County Department of Health’s EMBER program, will give attendees access to vital safety education.

Organizers say the event aims to help the community stay safe, healthy, and informed during the warmer months.

Families will also be able to connect with organizations dedicated to maternal, infant, and overall family well-being.

The event will be held at the library's Community Learning Center at 305 S. Michigan St. in South Bend.
