Google creates doodle to celebrate 79th anniversary of the drive-in theater

Google posted a special doodle on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of the first drive-in theater.

It happened back in 1933 in Camden, New Jersey.

Tickets were just 25 cents per car and 25 cents per person.

The proprietor of the drive-in showed home movies on a screen he hung between two trees in his yard.

If you'd like to enjoy a blast from the past, there is a drive-in theater right here in Michiana - the Tri-Way in Plymouth.

It's open on weekends throughout the summer and shows a double feature on four screens.
