Goshen couple pleads guilty to several Neglect of Dependent, Animal Cruelty charges

Elkhart County Jail ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A local couple is pleading guilty to multiple felony charges after their home was searched earlier this year.
Laura and Thomas Duncan pleaded guilty to all charges against them. Each faced ten charges, including multiple counts of both Neglect of a Dependent and Cruelty to an Animal.
Officers and welfare workers were called to the couple's home at the 100 block of Roxbury Park in April 2026. They reportedly removed three children, 23 dogs, and two cats. A 26th animal was found dead in a trash bag.
The two will be sentenced November 23.
