Goshen man dies following crash on County Road 34
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - A Goshen man has died following a two-vehicle crash on County Road 34 on January 18, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
At 4:29 a.m. on January 18, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on C.R. 34, east of State Road 13, when the driver allegedly disregarded a stop sign and entered the intersection.
As the Silverado crossed the intersection, the vehicle was struck by a 2006 Ford Ranger who was unable to stop in time and avoid the Silverado, reports said.
The impact pushed the Silverado into a pole. Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop in a field on the west side of S.R. 13.
The driver of the Silverado, identified as 59-year-old Gregory Marchand, complained of all-around pain and a laceration to his forehead.
On January 20, Marchand was pronounced dead at the hospital.
This is an ongoing investigation.
