Goshen Police make arrests in Brookside double-murder

The Goshen Police Department has arrested two people on murder charges in the deaths of Jose Nava -Orozco and Marco Carmona-Gonzalez.

The two booked on murder charges are Diego Armando Ramos, 22, of Elkhart and Luis Alberto Rivas, 19, of Goshen.

The investigation is ongoing and police say they will release additional information later Thursday.

Goshen Police said Nava-Orozco, his mother, sister, her two children and Carmona-Gonzalez were at the home in Brookside Manor when the suspects entered and shot and killed the two men Sunday morning around 5 a.m.

Police stayed on the scene for several days collecting evidence. It was released to the family on Wednesday.

This isn't the first time Ramos has faced serious felony charges. In April 2013 he was arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder and criminal gang activity after a drive by shooting at Middlebury and School streets.

Three people were taken to the hospital after the shooting.

The prosecutor's office declined to file formal charges against any of the suspects in the April 14, 2013 shooting.

Goshen Police have not revealed any details about what happened at the Brookside Manor home Sunday night when Nava-Orozco and Carmona-Gonzalez were murdered.
