Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer defended her strict stay at home policy during a press conference Monday afternoon.
Some business owners and Republican lawmakers are calling for looser restrictions in areas of the state that aren't as hard hit.
The governor says we will get back to "normalcy" as soon as possible but the state will only allow non-essential businesses to reopen when it's safe to do so.
She also said a story that's circulating on social media is not true. Stores can sell car seats during the state of emergency.
