Gun control: The call for tougher laws

President Obama is not the only one asking for gun control changes.

As it stands right now, unless you have been convicted of a felony or deemed mentally incompetent by a court you can buy a gun.

But lawmakers on both sides are calling for tougher laws.

"I don't know of any anybody that goes hunting with an assault rifle. I don't know people that need ten, twenty, thirty-round clips," said Sen. Joe Manchin, of West Virginia.

It looks like a majority Americans agree that we need more gun control. A new ABC News poll shows 54 percent favor stricter gun control laws.

Several Democrats have said they'll introduce a new weapons bill in January on the first day of the next Congress.
